Frequently asked questions
Answers for CTOs, product owners and HR hiring freelance development — web, apps and platforms.
What does a developer cost via Digital Tribes?
Depends on role, seniority and location (NL vs. nearshore). Indicative: nearshore seniors around €45–65/hr all-in; NL-based seniors around €90–120/hr. We're transparent about fees — ask for a rate overview in intake.
How do you handle DBA?
Every engagement uses Statement of Work, documented independence, own tools where needed and no faux hierarchy. We review per trajectory — not once at kick-off. The Rent Company has run on this model for 3+ years with zero DBA issues.
What's the difference between matching and the hub route?
Matching: we match and introduce; contracts typically sit clearly as client–contractor (with your templates). Hub: Digital Tribes sits in the contractual/billing chain — useful when you want one invoice party and tighter process control. Both aim at genuine contractor engagement, not disguised employment; exact wording we align with your legal/finance.
What if a developer doesn't fit our team?
We arrange replacement at no extra charge. No drama, no hidden fees.
How fast can you actually deliver?
First proposals often within 16 hours of your request. Average time-to-match around 5 working days. For near- and offshore, ~14 days to go-live after the first intake on average; Netherlands-based often faster (sometimes the next business day).
Is nearshore quality good enough?
We screen nearshore to the same bar as NL: technical depth, references and a live interview. Seniors with relevant product experience — not “cheap seats only”.
Do you also do permanent hires?
Yes. Besides flex capacity we run recruitment & selection for permanent tech roles. No cure, no pay is available where it fits.
How are you different from a freelance marketplace?
On a marketplace you search and filter yourself and carry quality and continuity risk. With us a human picks from the network — everyone is pre-vetted. We support DBA-compliant work, replacement on mismatch and long-term client relationships.
What are your minimum requirements?
No rigid minimum duration. We prefer long engagements but happily start small to build trust.
How long does intake take?
About 30 minutes live — no endless forms. You'll hear back within 24 hours with next steps.
Can we request references or extra cases?
Yes. This site shows public cases and quotes; after a short intake we can share additional references suited to your sector and role.
